Granulators for plastic and rubber processing reduce scrap, off-spec parts, and production waste into uniform granules for regrind or recycling. They feature a cutting rotor, knives, screens, and feed systems sized for throughput and material type. Choose by rotor design, screen size, motor power, and downstream handling options like conveyors or dust extraction to match your plant’s capacity and material characteristics.
Check rotor condition, knife wear and cutter seats, screen condition, gearbox and motor hours, bearing play, electrical controls, and evidence of overheating or material buildup. Ask for maintenance records and a live test under load if possible.
Use a carrier experienced with heavy machinery. Secure the rotor and removable parts, block moving components, use correct lifting points, and consider partial disassembly for large machines. Verify crate specs, weight, permits, and insure the shipment.
Daily checks for vibration, bearing temp, and feed consistency. Regular knife sharpening/replacement, screen inspection, gearbox oil changes per hours, belt tension, and cleaning dust build-up. Keep rotor balance and perform scheduled inspections of seals and electrical systems.
