Electrical testers for semiconductors are handheld and benchtop instruments used to measure voltage, current, resistance, continuity, diode behavior and other electrical parameters on components and circuits. In semiconductor work they provide precise readings, leakage and threshold detection, and help verify solder joints, IC pins and assemblies. Models range from simple multimeters to advanced curve tracers and parametric testers used in R&D, QA and repair labs.
Verify calibration status and certificates, accuracy and range specs, physical condition, probe and connector integrity, firmware version, and availability of spare parts or manuals.
Remove batteries, secure probes, use anti-static bags and foam padding, crate for heavy benchtop units, and choose a carrier experienced with electronic test equipment. Include calibration paperwork.
Regular calibration per manufacturer recommendations, inspect/replace probes and leads, keep connectors clean, update firmware, and store in a dry, ESD-safe case.
