Gauge (E), usable cylinder diameter, number of feeders, max RPM, needle type, and compatibility with yarn counts and fabric structures you plan to produce.

Drain fluids, secure moving parts, pack needles and delicate components separately, protect electronics, use a transporter experienced with textile machinery and insure against transit damage.

Verify voltage, phase and frequency, floor load capacity, space for feeders and take-down, compressed air needs, and any required software or control interfaces.

Regular cleaning of yarn paths, lubrication of cams and bearings, inspection and replacement of worn needles/sinkers, checking timing belts and electronics, and scheduling periodic professional servicing.
