Electric actuators convert electrical energy into controlled linear or rotary motion for valves, attachments, and position control. In crawler loaders they provide precise blade tilt, quick coupler actuation, and attachment control with options for stroke length, force rating, and feedback. Choose sealed, high-IP units with suitable voltage, duty cycle, and feedback (encoder/potentiometer/CAN) to survive dirt, vibration and heavy cyclical loads in construction environments.
Match force (thrust/torque), stroke or rotation, mounting pattern, voltage and control signal type, duty cycle, IP rating, and feedback options. Verify mechanical fit, load capacity, and thermal limits for continuous operation.
Power it with the correct voltage, verify full stroke/rotation under a representative load, check feedback signals, inspect seals and wiring, and listen for grinding or excessive noise.
Secure shaft and moving parts, drain fluids if required, protect connectors and wiring, crate or palletize with vibration padding, and insure the shipment. Use carriers experienced with heavy equipment parts.
Regularly inspect seals, connectors and mounting bolts, keep electrical contacts clean, check feedback calibration, and follow manufacturer lubrication intervals. Replace worn seals or brushes promptly.
Lifespan depends on duty cycle and environment; heavy-use units last several thousand to tens of thousands of cycles. Watch for slow movement, loss of holding force, erratic feedback, overheating, noise or fluid leaks.
