Belt conveyors are continuous transport systems that move bulk materials or packaged goods on a flat or troughing belt. Common in mining, manufacturing, agriculture and logistics, they offer efficient, low-maintenance hauling over short or long distances. Buyers can choose variations in belt material, width, drive type, frame construction and skirt seals to match capacity, material abrasiveness and environmental needs.
Inspect belt condition, splices, rollers, pulleys, drive motor, gearboxes and frame alignment. Ask for load capacity, operating hours, maintenance records and photos of wear areas.
Match belt width, speed and material capacity to your feed rate and particle size. Check troughing angle, pulley diameters, and required head/tail arrangements for incline or decline runs.
Conveyors are often palletized or shipped in sections. Disassembly may be needed for long or wide units. Confirm weight, max transport length, permits and whether the seller will crate or skid components.
Regularly inspect and tension the belt, check rollers and bearings, align pulleys, lubricate drive components, and monitor motor/gearbox temps. Replace worn idlers and address tracking issues immediately.
Ensure a level, properly graded foundation, adequate access for assembly and alignment points. Provide required power supply, guards and dust/control measures before installation.
